Impromtu BBQ

We had an impromptu BBQ last weekend and the Robucks, Everts and Overstreets showed up. We were able to go out on the boat and just hang out. I feel sorry for Abigail in this life jacket. It looks very uncomfortable.

Hanging out with Friends

We had fun hanging out the other nmight in Gig Harbor/Fox Island with our friends, Ty and Rachel. We went to the new Fondi Pizza place there and then watched the Seahawks game at their place. The first pic is just Abby to me. She has so much joy.

I'm Pregnant

Well, it's official. I'm pregnant. I am 8 weeks along - due April 7th. This is the actual pregnancy test. We told my family be wrapping this picture up in a frame reserved for grandchildren on my parent's family picture wall. We gave it to my mom for her birthday. My mom had actually never seen a pregnancy test before, so it took my sisters to translate the surprise. The kids will be 22 months apart. We will find out the sex of the new baby when we can. My last pregnancy was so easy. This one has been a bit more challenging, although I probably don't have much to complain about. I have felt exausted, had a restless stomach, emotional and have been a lot hungrier. I'm ready for the first trimester to be over. We're so excited though. Pregnancy is such a magical time.

Seafair

Jer scored us VIP passes to Seafair. We went with our friends, Greg and Jackie, and their twins, Andrew and Hailey. It was a fantastic day. We were not sure what the passes would get us, but it gave us free access to the pits as well as a BBQ right on the water. We had a grassy area to sit with our kids and were so close to the Angels and the hydro races.

Tall Ships

Jer and I were lucky enough to be invited to an after hours, private cocktail party with access to all the tall ships when they came to Tacoma in July. It was a fun evening.

12 Months Old

Abigail is officially a year old. She is 30 inches in height (79%) and 21 lb (50%). She is enjoying walking, books, stacking, and making a mess. She is super squirmy but self-entertaining most of the time. Still very social, she waves and says hi to everyone. She knows what different sounds animals make. Eating has been interesting. Thus far, she does not like milk. She can taste just the littlest bit of milk mixed in with formula and spits it out. She is learning to not throw food on the floor when she doesn't want it. Eating seems to get in the way of being active, so she could care less about it. I would not say she's a picky eater though. One day she'll love a food and the next day she'll want nothing to do about it. It all seems random though. She's still pretty obedient and easy going, but I do see some signs of a will peeking in. Words, in her own version, include amen, hi, bye bye, momma, dadda, here ya go, thank you, uh-oh, book and ball. She's a chatty girl who seems to "talk" often. She is still full of joy and smiles.

Abigail's First Birthday

Thank you everyone for coming over to celebrate our "shrimp's" first birthday. We had a shrimp feast, and Abigail had her own feast with the underwater themed cake. We have a plan to plant a tree for each of our children on their first birthday. This is Abigail's tree, a weeping cherry tree. It was a fun day with the family.

Lakewold Gardens

Within a mile, we are blessed to have famous gardens, which we finally decided to tour. We packed a picnic and went down to spend the afternoon seeing the gorgeous grounds. Here are a few pictures.
